Distractions are used in combat, business, and of course political battles. Just about anything you are trying your opponent or whom ever to not notice, you pop up with something to get them looking the other way. This has become real theater in the last 8 years with Russia, Russia, Russia hoaxes. Daily false news articles on how bad someone or something is have become so common no one knows what is real anymore.
Do not fool yourself. This is not a one political party problem. This is our governments problem. Those of you who will scream and stomp your feet that the mainstream media is not a stooge for the government. You are the ones they already have in their government grasp. The opposite side who yells and throws tantrums because of the hypocrisy are lost in your own world while doing nothing to correct problems while complaining like a 7 year old.
Yes, in a transparent government we see all the details. Not syphoned off scraps to make us think one way or another. We don’t need to be lied to to get your way if you are doing good for the country. But we see it daily, weekly, monthly and now for decades, this incessant need to lie to get an agenda through. Usually an agenda both sides of voters dislike but both sides of politicians do.
Here becomes the problem. The world currently sees a diminished and weak United States. Thus the power hungry players around the world are taking advantage. Whether you like it or not they see a chance and are trying to destroy the U.S. dollar as the world currency. Distress in Israel produces rocket attacks. Russia fighting in Ukraine creates billions in monetary help. China leads the way in that dollar destruction while it is slowly surrounding Taiwan economically and physically. While the world is on fire the problem is who is able to tame it all?
In America our media and politicians obsess over all of the distractions while ignoring the overflowing needs here at home. The number one distraction is Donald J. Trump. Every news cast leads and breathes DJT. While you are enamored with this story or that about him you are not focusing on rampant “transitory” inflation. Numerous dog whistles like abortion, trans rights, and egregious racism help to continue you looking in another direction while they systematically burn the place down. Structure by structure you lose more of not just your freedoms, but truly a piece of who you are.
I popped into ai and asked what the main problems are currently in the United States. Those of you who know what is going on in the world will be surprised that Covid-19 was number one. It was followed by economic equality, and climate change. Do you see a pattern here? The list went on with only Immigration at six, and Education at nine rounding out the two conservative worries in the top 10. No top tens on world issues, or world wars. No thoughts about digital currencies or inflation. Not even a shred of worry about how you are going to keep your family safe in the coming economic destruction planned by our leaders.
The United States has had a reputation for being a nation with a low voter turnout rate. This tells me a story of how we listen. It also indicates a lack of interest in the political process. Many of our citizens do not appear to be fully engaged in current events that affect their daily lives.
One possible explanation for this disengagement is the overwhelming amount of information and media that Americans are exposed to on a daily basis. With so much content available through various channels, including social media and news outlets, it can be difficult for individuals to sort through the noise and identify the most important issues that require their attention. So they don’t.
Political polarization and the increasing complexity of policy issues may also contribute to feelings of disillusionment and disconnection. As a result, 90% of Americans are not fully aware of the ways in which political decisions can and are impacting their lives.
Think about this, if you are distracted, you won’t throw a fuss. If you are distracted you end up going along with the crowd. Joining the crowd without questioning its actions or beliefs can lead you to the perpetuation of harmful or unethical behavior. You know and I know it's important to critically examine the actions and beliefs of those around us, and to consider the potential consequences of following the crowd.
Our young folks seem to be blindly following the crowd which can result in a loss of individuality and personal agency, and can contribute to the spread of harmful ideas or behaviors. So do not become distracted. Take the time to reflect on your own beliefs and values and to question the actions of those around you. Then demonstrate the morals that God would lead you to. Not the ways that social media would!
